  • bad radiator fans

I have a 1994 formula firebird and the radiator fans don't come on at all but they do when the A/C is on. Is there a way to trace this problem???

also what is the average running temp for the LT1

Why is it called the fire chicken

On a moderate temperature day, your cruising temp should be about 15°-20° above the rating of your thermostat. The stock thermostat is 180°. More cooling system info.

The same thing happend to me... so what i was told that it was most likely the temp. sendig sensor....(that goes to the ecu) in the water pump not the manifold..i replaced that any now they come on just fine...about 18$ for the sensor.

How hot does it get? The first fan (or low speed) doesn't come on until 226*F with stock programming, and the second fan (or high speed) at 235*F. If it isn't running that hot, they won't come on. The fact they work with the A/C would appear to confirm the electrical circuits, including the relays are OK. The early 94's only have 2 fan realys, the later 94's have three.
