Use a non LT1 timing chain assembly on a LT1? This would be a dragrace engine using an electric waterpump. Let me know. Thanks

Many people have used the Cloyes Gen 1 SBC double roller timing setup. As noted, requires that you eliminate the gear driven water pump, eliminate the CKP sensor on the 96/97 LT1's and do a bit of clearancing on the timing cover. On the other hand, I've seen the LT4 Extreme Duty set support over 1,100HP on an LT1 engine with a big solid roller and very high spring pressures. I've been running the LT4 ED for 7 years.Fred
