Clutch slip....

I was doing a burnout in 1st gear sat there a second and then started to roll out of it, when I shifted into second clutch totally let off of, the tires stopped spinning and the motor was still reving as if the clutch was slippin pretty bad. I just bought the car last thursday and it only has 37K on it, was wondering how hard or easy it is to do a clutch on these cars, I have mechanical backround but wanted to hear tricks and/or tips on how to make the install easy. thanks, Rob
