  • trans line pressure actuator cable adjustment (carb.)

i have an 82 camaro that i recently put a 350 in I had to keep the carb. that was on the 350. The throttle linkage is different but i got it to work, what i really want to know is how to adjust the cable. I talked to a transmission specialist and he said there was a white clip that was on the cable near the carb. and all i had to do was remove the clip and put the pedal to the floor then release, and put the clip back in. He also said that you want it to shift as high in rpms as possible (as much as you want it to i guess...?) i know i want it to shift around 5200 rpm, but also i was told that you dont want the shifts to be like "break neck" tight. If anyone knows where this clip is, this info would be great, thanks for yer help.

Im guessing your talking about adjusting a TV cable on a 700R4? If so what kind of carb do you have? If you have a holley or an edelbrock or something like that you will need to get a special TV cable bracket to correct the geometry. Without one you will not be able to get the right adjustment.
