im ordering a 12 bolt tomorrow and am still undecided on gears. i only run 1/8 and dont do much out of town driving. would 4.30 gears be good. how would they run on the street.

4:30's????????? hmmm.
why not 4:10's..on an m6..they are very streetable.
never heard of anyone getting "4:30's"

4.30's are fairly streetable but one of the most important things is if your cam will work well with those gears. What cam are you running?

I know of the LT4 hotcam but I have never heard of the LS1 hotcam? What is the duration at .050, lift , and LSA? How big of a shot on your juice?

You need to rev higher. Don't get that short of gears unless you increase the redline, you'll be rowing through the gears WAY too fast, and losing the torque multiplication in the lower gears too soon.Originally posted by Adam 2kSS

That is where I was going Jay,
. Seriously though Jay is right Adam. With 4.30's and juice you would most likely have traction problems resulting in unpleasant 60 footers, and then when you did hook you would lose out on one the choice benefits of N2O, instantaneous torque. Try 3.90's, I think you would be happy.
