  • Wheels size , is this correct?

I ve bought a set of c6 replica wheels, i think they are made by mid america. 245/45-17 front and 275/40- 18 rears. Are the sizes correct for my 95 formula that came with the 245/50-16?

I m mostly concerned about the fronts, the 45 sidewall doesnt seem right, and they dont look as good as the 240/50-16 i had on before ( car is lowered 1 1/2 inch, hotchkis springs)

Reason i m asking is that i ve found 2 new continental sportcontact2 245/45-17 for ~$300 both, and in shops they want that amount for only one..

The rears are goodyear eagle F1 runflats , i think they are great tyres for street use.

The stock Corvette tire sizes (diameter) do not match the stock F-Body tire sizes. The Corvette has a larger diameter tire in the back.

      245/45-17 = 25.68"
      275/40-18 = 26.66"

The F-Body uses the same diameter tire front and rear:

      245/50-16 = 25.65"

      or for the SS/WS6

      275/40-17 - 25.66"

In effect, by using the 275/40-18 in the rear, unless you had your PCM reprogrammed, your speedo is now reading about 4% lower than actual speed, or indicating only 72MPH when you are actually going 75MPH.

As far as how they look, only you can decide if you like them.
