  • Should I get new lifters?

After long delays, the shop is finally ready to do last touches on my 355. My last issue is - should I reuse my lifters?

    A little background is:
The motor will be a fully balanced Advanced Induction heads/cam 355 with forged pistons. I spun a few rod bearings previously on the stock LT1, and had to drive the car for about 50 miles with spun bearings - it was < 5 PSI oil at idle, ~20 psi at 2000 RPM. The lifters I have were replaced about 2.5 years/20k miles ago and are Comp Cams 850 OEM replacements. I was going to reuse them without a doubt, but now realize I drove it for a bit with spun rod bearings and low oil pressure. They say that the trauma happened at the rod bearings and destroyed the crank, but the block itself is fine. So I'm not sure if this low pressure could have hurt other parts, like lifters too? Would $250 be a safe investment in new lifters, or should I be fine?

    Thanks in advance.

If they look good, take them apart and clean, then re-oil them.
