  • Winter Mods

Ill try to keep this short.
Alrite so i have the headers Jet-Hot longtubes and offroad hooker y-pipe.

I dynoed 250whp with the mods i have any my car hasnt been tuned in about 2 years and i have added more mods, 3 year old spark plugs, stock wires and opti, huge exhaust manifold leak on both sides.

With the addition of these long tubes, the ovious spark plugs, wires, and retune, would it be possible to get 275 whp?

Are there any other bolt ons that i could do to net me 300whp?

Now, for the winter? i was thinking

1.diamond subframes(weld in) can you use long tubes?
    2. relocation brackets (weld in)
    3. Lower control arms?
    4. Adjustable Panhard?

does that seem good for just trying to make decent bolt on hp and put it to the ground?

None of that is going to increase the HP rate. All those things do is help you plant it. If you think about it when you dyno, its like a rolling start. Take care of the leaks, Wires and PLugs and that should help a little. Its not going to equal to 25+rwhp even with another tune but I can be wrong. You should do Chromoly PushRods and Rockers. Maybe some Springs and if you want some good power added then a cam and headwork is what you should look into.

im well aware of of the sus. not adding horsepower lol. thats not what i meant. i was asking 2 questions. can a LT1 hit 300whp with bolt ons, no rr or anything. i hit 250 wihthout headers and an old tune.

the parts i listed for the winter mods were a second question. if those were good to go with

      i was thinking for suspension...

UMI 3 pt. weld in subframes

single adjustable panhard and lower control arms

      relocation brackets

QA1 Generation F Coil-Over Kit - Drag Racing and rear shocks

      tunnel brace mounted torque arm

      anyone have experience with these?

        oh ok.

With bolt ones I highly highly doubt your going to get an extra 50hp. Maybe at the most 15-25rwhp.

I heard RR's and some good springs u should get some nice power but to get somewhere in the 300+ range then your going to have to go internal I think.

As for the suspension, That sounds like a pretty good set-up.

You have an A4 and Im M6.. And I dont understand why people complain about bald tires. If anything thats better since its closer to a slick and allows more traction. My 60 foots are total dog. Im running 2.20 60 foots. I have only ran my car one time on a 1/4 track. I was running 255's plus my fat self, no weight savings, a very tight 1LE FSB and an extra set of M/T drag radials in the truck (I was to lazy to change them and I didnt wanna leave them in the parking lot in fear of being stolen.) My mph was something in the 105 range. The power is there just no traction. And I did not PowerShift. Im not even dumping, im leting the clutch out at like 2800rpm's in fear of having my rear go boom!!! Once I get my TA cover for the diff, Hello 3200+ clutch dumps on BFG DragRadials. That should put me in the 13.50 area.

26918's, 1.6 promags, asp pullie "set" with balancer, elec. w.p. put me at 283 hp with manifolds & duals. Homemade shorties & a dr. gas x pipe with 2 1/2" exhaust put me at 300 rwhp.

bald tires street tires are nothing like slicks. street tires are generally hard and even when heated are not that sticky. a hard, bald street tire is going to give you 0 traction.

withing 3 years i plan to build my motor and oviously do a heads and cam package. i would like to net 300whp staying mostly bolt on. i know that that may not be possible and i may need to do 1.6 rr. if my plan is to build my motor, but not for a few yrs, what should i do.

1.6 rr self aligning or non self aligning?
                      valve springs

                      any additional parts?

i want to do as little as possible but still be safe.
