The motor itself runs flawlessly. But it never reaches a temperature above 150 or 160 degrees. The fan runs most of the time (probably 95% of the time). The computer has been modified with a hypertech performance chip. I had read that part of the chip's purpose is to make the motor run cooler, is that true? Their concept of making the motor run cooler for a colder charge of air is a load of crap in my opinion but just wondering. I do still have the stock chip but haven't swapped it out for comparison yet. But would also like to use the aftermarket chip i guess.
My main question is, has anyone else come across the problem of the fans running continuously? or anyone know a reason why they would. My assumption is the culprit is the hypertech chip or also the fact that the person who had the car before me may have put the chip in along with that 160 degree thermostat that you are "supposed" to match with that chip. No way of knowing what the guy before me did to the car, really.
