    1995 Z28 A4 will backfire anytime you get into higher rpms like 2,500 and up. coil,wires and plugs installed today did not fix issue. is it time for opti? it has original unit Z28 has 115,XXX miles. car idles and starts up fine.

    sold 95 Z28 to younnger brother.( he drove car in a heavy rain storm for 1 hour. i think he got the opti wet

      I would say opti to. If you are not in a rush a guy on E-Bay has them new for like $185.00. Hope this helps.

        ^ I'm with them; my opti started out like that when it went bad and got progressively worse. Mine was just the cap and rotor but I replaced the whole works while I had everything off including all the front seals.
        Tracy, 97 Formula, pretty much stock.
