  • Need help with Roller Rockers/Valve Covers

    Hey guys,

I put 1.5 ratio crane gold race roller rockers (wide body) on my motor today, and I put one of the valve covers on to see where they were going to hit. I've done a little research and have found that mostly everyone cuts one side of the support bracing inside the cover. I tried to figure out why this is done, but it doesn't seem like the support bracing would/does hit anything; it seems like it goes right in between the two rockers. The cover almost seems like it might be hitting the polylock. Any suggestions?

Not sure about your exact rockers, but most say the Crane gold rockers fit without modification.

Thanks for the response Rob . When people do have clearance problems with the valve cover, what part of the rocker normally hits? Does the body of the rocker hit the bracing?

It is usually the side of wider rockers (like Comp Pro Magnums) that cause the interference. The L-shaped part of the cover's internal webbing is usually sheared, bent or ground off to make room.
