  • help w/build numbers

Greetings from a newbie! I have purchased a 94 Z28 convertible and am interested to see where she is on the production charts. I see many other ragtops but not so many my vintage.

Thanks in advance and may the F-Body gods smile upon all!

The only thing you can do is look at the last 6 digits of the VIN. That will tell you where your car was produced, in the sequence of the total of 119,799 Camaros that were built in 1994 model year. The first one made in the 1994 model year was # 100001, the last was #219799. Production numbers by model:

    Z28 Coupe - 36,008 (30.1%)
    Z28 Convertible - 4,932 (4.1%)
    V6 Coupe - 76,531 (63.9%)
    V6 Convertible - 2,328 (1.9%)

        the numbers

You guys are the best! Some of myth has been removed surrounding this car. The car is Patriot Red with the auto tranny.

From my days with the Impala in the garage, I know what the 1LE package is but I'm clueless as to the other build codes. Now that I'm excited, I need to go get the book that fills in what build codes are what.

        Thank you for assisting!

Get the "Camaro White Book", Mike Antonick, covering all production models from 1967-2002. ISBN #0-7603-1879-4. Or, check out these websites:

          http://www.camarosource.ca/php/camar...year=1971&tm=1

          http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/9302rpocodes

          http://www.marshu.com/ws6-resources-...nual-parts.php

What color is your interior? In 94/95, they had a wild red/black combo, that I would have wanted if I could have found one in 1994.

If this is how we find out what number our builds are, why does my last 6 digits start with 21xxxx? I know my 97 Formula is 1 of 2250 built (build date 11/96), and there were only a few more than 30,000 total firebirds were built in 1997.

Because you have a Pontiac. The Chevrolet/Camaro series starts with 100000. The Pontiac/Firebird series starts with 200000. First one was 200001
