  • is this a legit color for a Z???

    can someone please look at this ad and see if its legit ive never seen this color before is it stock color or do you think aftermarker???

    i've seen that gold color on a 98+ Firebird so I would imagine that it would also be available on the Chevy version as well.

      can't tell you if it's legit or not, but it looks damn nice on that car.

        yeah now that you mention that i remember where i saw that color. a local guy that worked at ls1source here in NE ohio has a TA in that same color.

                    i have seen some like it before. I dont like it. IMO it looks like a very "tired" color.

                      Looks like "Sport Gold Metallic" which was only offered in 1998. They sold 1,371 coupes and 171 convert's in that color (not as rare as "Bright Purple Metallic"). There were also 5 sport golds built in 1999, but they were a special order for Days Inn. If the 98 is not the sport gold, it is still possible that it was a factory paint job. The Camaro White Book shows that there were 15 cars that were factory painted in non-standard colors, and another 63 98's that were painted in 1999's "light pewter".

                        Yeah, I now seem to remember that the gold was unpopular and they discontinued it quickly.

                          Hell, I like the gold color...something thats not common and tends to stand out of a crowd.
