  • Opinion On Slave!

Well I have had nothing but issues with my Drivetrain. I have dropped my trans a total of 4 times and this is going to be the 5th time. Its almost second nature to me.
    Times:
1st: clutch from stock to SPEC S1
    2nd: Changes the Slave
3rd: Changed over to another SPEC S1
4rd: Changed over to LS7 Clutch.

Now after that last time everything was great, and the clutch Grabbed great.
Out of nowhere my slave started leaking. So down goes the Trans Once Again.

I have been buying Aftermarket AutoZone and PepBoys Slaves.

Question: Should I get another Aftermarket or opt up and pay double and get a GM '02 Slave Cylinder.

as much as it sucks, id go gm, and atleast that way there is a 12/12 warranty on the part.

In my opinion, things you don't want to do twice, go original GM.

Some things you just don't care to get good at. I feel your pain. Good luck!

By the way, from my personal experience, I won't spend another penny at Autozone.

Yep, there's a reason their stuff is so cheap with a lifetime warranty.

I think you're having the same problem you've been having all along. Switching to the LS7 clutch didn't fix your problem. I understand that it grabs better, but you also swapped in the flywheel.

Your slippage was from a faulty flywheel and hydraulic system. Your bad hydraulic system is going to make more problems and you'll be in the same boat as before.

Go GM. It comes down to being a time issue. Is it worth it to work on the car and do the same job 5x over to save $50 or so.

No way. Done. Finished it this morning. I was able to get the Slave for $120 and then bought some synthetic ATF M1. So far so good. Seems to be engaging pretty damn good. I even had time to run up and down my street with open exhaust for kicks. Ill post videos tomorrow.
