While I am enjoying getting a few projects done, working on cars and not even thinking about work, I still have to get up at 5 am to get my son off to school. Something is just not right.
I hear ya. I took two days of "vacation" last week. Up early since my little girl (<2 years) has her own ideas about wake up time, then spent the vacation finishing some trim work on the deck, 2 oil changes, 2 tire rotations, a wash/polish, fuel filter change, and rear axle fluid change. It's worth it to spend some time with her though.

I haven't had one in two years...almost. Well, I take that back...had a week, but that wasn't a vacation. A big storm (tornado possibly) hit and spent that week cleaning. Other than that...up at 6:30 and pulling 11 hours shifts at work. But hey, I'm not complaining. Much more respect to you guys who have little runts to worry about too...
I definitely work much harder on my vacation than at work. when I take a day off I can't wait to get to work the next day so I can take it easy again. (desk job vs hard physical labor) found out quick how out of shape I really am. need to work out with the hulkster a little before I end up not being able to wipe my own a$$ without getting winded. hahaha
Joe I can relate to getting up early. Normally I get up at 5, but my cat has been waking me up at 4. I had it on a diet cause it was getting too fat, but it was relentless and bugging me constantly, so after 2 months, I am giving up and feeding it all it wants all night long. Too bad if it gets fat and has a heart attack - I need some sleep! I also need a vacation bad!
Yup, my three year old doesn't believe in sleep past 6:30; weekend, vacation, or school, he lets me know that it is time to get moving. His latest is coming up to me, sound asleep, and opening my eyelids while shouting "Dad, get UPPPPP!!!!!!" Big sigh,,,,,, However, seeing his smiling face and getting hugs is the highlight of my day so I don't mind!

**-** BOOST, it's no replacement for displacement, and there's definitely no replacement for having both!
My daughter used to sleep walk. She would come in in the middle of the night jabering some non sense. I'd tell her she is sleep walking and to go bed. She wouldn't remember any of it the next morning.

Don't you just love how you get beat up by a little squirt. Beyond all of the bumps and bruises, I have cracked my ribs (don't ask), and screwed up my neck from his head-lock. Although, my toddler is insane...born at 10.2lbs, hit 20lbs at 4 months, and hit 40 lbs at two, he is close to 50lbs and 3ft 3in tall at three. aka Bamm Bamm!

Ha, ha. My daughter is the opposite, pretty small for a 2 year old - 25th percentile on the charts. She still took me down though. Screamed so loud in my ear that I actually lost my balance and toppled sideways!
