  • Audiophiles - question

ok i dont really know to much about audio in our cars other than ive had a few 1.5 din head units thats looked alright... im building a new camaro, and ive been looking on ebay for some nice navigation ready head units, i the motorized flip out things are out now, i was checking out some 2 din units that were just in dash like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/6-5-in-dash-2-di...ayphotohosting . Would i need to cut or would this fit or whats the deal? im just really not feeling the motorized flip out things i think somethin like this would look slick and be wicked function... your opinion?

now im not a genious or anything as we all know very well in here but i have a 7inch motorized flipout in my 94 camaro and LOVE it and yes you would have to do some mods as far as i know to make that fit it might fit underneath where the radio sits now in that little cubby hole but other then that have fun trying to make it fit. i would suggest the flip out its very inconspicious and theives wouldnt think to steal it but if you saw that sitting in your car that would be a different story but that is just my two pennys

Major modifications are required to fit that radio into your dash. You would have to cut out both the dash structure itself and the face panel around the AC controls and radio. I would suggest sticking with a 1.5 din or a single din flipout and not cutting up your car.
