possibility dealer may just not want to do it..... look iv ran a dealership before and they are just lookin for a quick way out. they dont always say that either. now most of them dont pay for the tear down unless, UNLESS its a covered part. sucks you have to tear it down first but... call the dealership were you got the warranty from. get the cell number of there warranty rep. call him everyhour of everyday if he gives you the run around. See if you can get the dealership behind you too unless its the same dealer then just call there main office and hound them. it may sound like a bother but it sure beats paying 6 grand for a new motor. and like they said before if its a covered part hen its covered. now depending on the coverage u bought most of them wont cover gaskets or fluids but hey like i said before it beats paying 6k. even if they only cover 2 thirds your better off.

Who determined that the engine was "ceezed" (seized??) up? What sort of inspection was made? Under what circumstances did the engine stop running? Was the engine properly filled with oil? Was there any evidence of hydrolock, or exposure of the intake to high water? Have you had the car examined by an ASE-certified specialist for a "second opinion"? Was all maintenance performed per the Owner's Manual? Do you have proof of that work? Are you the original owner of the vehicle?Fred

me again
I took it to another certified garage before I took it to the dealership I got it from and they pretty much told me the same thing. I've always had the oil changed everytime the lil sticker says to that they give you. I had new plugs and wires and a belt put on it too then out of nowhere I heard click click clank Kapung Kaspat and that was that. The oil and belt were just changed las week.

Who did you have change the oil and belt? I'm not implying that's the reason, but for what it might cost you... It's worth looking into who changed it and what they possibly could have done incorrectly. Then again, they might have done a fine job.

the belt
Well I took it to get the oil changed and the mechanic told me I needed a new belt so I said throw it on there. I had trouble awhile back with the car but that turned out to be the plug wires so thats why I got the new plugs and wires. Nothin fishy here believe me I never ran the car hard at all I kept it clean and running right as much as I could. I myself since the warrantee sucked I bought another engine and I am paying someone to put it in. Hopefully I will have better luck with it. I mostly just drove the car to work and the store and for long trips anywhere and when I say long for here thats like 30 or more miles one way... for those I used a junker lol. But I have another motor coming and wish me luck
