I have a Star SPEC, and almost everybody I've heard who has one loves it. I have a stage two, which is good for up to 500 flywheel HP. I'm at 450, and it grabs like a mother. Almost identical pedal feel as the stock one too. I race with it, drive on the street with it, and tow a motorcycle with it. For a stock replacement that can handle some power, you will not beat the price. I got mine from www.lmperformance.com Sorry to sound like a commercial, but the clutch is SO GOOD I tell everyone that asks to get one. 2nd best $450 I've spent on the car (2nd only to the blue bottle )

making 450 huh? thats awesome, how many gears can you catch? i have a frind witha lightly modded ls1 ws6(exhaust and shifter) and on certain pavment he can chirp 5th gear, i know that seems farfetched but ill swear to it. he has a brand new cartek clutch, which i hear are also good, how many stages does spec have?~gunter

I don't try and catch gears in my car, it's too hard on parts. I have caught third accidentally on motor on dry pavement with the 315's on the back, so I figure that's enough. At the track, the only time I have ever spun is when I haven't warmed up the 315's. Just a slight burnout and they have never spun.

I have spun 5th in the wet on juice, but I don't recommend anybody trying that

Yeah, I know, juicing in the wet is about as dumb as the claimed ET's in the fast and furious But when you just get done spending two days installing your nitrous kit with all the safety stuff and wanna see what it'll do, sometimes you do stupid stuff. At least I didn't have to worry about the rearend breaking

Oh yeah, the Spec's come in 4 stages, by the way. Most of the people I've seen on the f-body boards use stage 2's and stage 3's.

The stage 4 is pretty much a race only clutch, since it's ceramic and kevlar and all that other stuff you usually only find on brake pads or the space shuttle However, I do know some people using them on the street. I believe the stage 4 is for ~1000 HP cars, because the guys I know that have it are drag racers with 800+HP and run on full slicks, which are hard on all drivetrain parts.
