  • Exhaust insulating wrap

What do you guys think about insulating wraps for exhaust manifolds/headers? I am considering getting them to help shield heat from the plug wires. It seems that it might be easier to install than a fire sleeve for the wire itself.

do not wrap the headers with thermal wrap. it can absorb oil and be the perfect medium to be a catalyst for fire. Get taylor firesleeves and wrap the wires, not the headers.

Nix on the header wrap. Bad for headers, plus the afore-mentioned fire hazard.

      Cover the wires.

Yep, it actually causes the metal to fatigue faster.

Good to know, I won't waste my money on header wrap.
