Ok, the time has come for a new clutch and I finally have the money. I've got two shops lined up that can do the work for about the same price, but which should I go to? One is a transmission specialty shop (Shucks Transmissions in Hayward, CA) and the other is a general service shop that I have a good history with (AMR in Hayward, CA). I was going to go with Schucks, but I just found out AMR also does clutches and now I'm unsure of which would be better. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

Use the guy you have a good history with. Replacing the clutch is NOT rocket science, unless you need to get into the transmission.....then it IS rocket science. The Old Guy! '94 z-28, m-6, t-tops, go-fast red, 316k. Now with '96 engine w/ Lt-4 hot cam, roller rockers, heavy duty timing chain, and Spec stage 2 clutch.

Thanks for the advice man. Only thing is...I have a good history with both lol Schucks did the tranny, t-case and rear-end on my Jeep and I've been very happy with their work as well. I don't know what to do lolSteve

I was thinking about the SLP setup, but since she's a daily driver, I think I'll stick with stock just because of the amount of slip it alots you. Schucks has the cheaper price and I was going to have them work on it first anyways. Thanks for the advice guys.Steve

If schucks rebuilt the tranny, rearend, and t case on a jeep, the clutch will be a no brainer for them.
If your power is stock, use a stock clutch. Its cheaper and more driveable. IF you want to add power in the future, look at SPEC clutches. I have had a pleasant experiences with SPEC.96 WS6 Formula: Ram Air, 383 Stroker, Ported LT4 Heads and Manifold, 1.6 Crane Rollers, 58MM T.B., AS&M Headers, Borla Exhaust, Meziere Elec. H2O Pump, Canton Deep Sump Oil Pan, 100 HP OF TNT N2O!! , T56 Conversion w/ Pro 5.0 shifter, SPEC Stage 3 Clutch, Hotchkiss Subframe Conn., Lakewood Adj. Panhard Bar, Spohn Adj. LCA's, BMR Adj. T.A., Custom 12 bolt w/ 3:73's, Moser Axles, Eaton Posi, Moser Girdle

I'm going to add power to it, but nothing major...only bolt-ons (CAI, exhaust...the normal basic stuff). Stock should stlll be good on that...right?Steve
