  • Upgrade Exhaust - Cat back and headers for '02 CETA...recommendations??!!

OK guys--there appear to be several options out there, but I'm trying to narrow things down and looking for some current applications insight. I want to start with the cat-back to a quad-tip system with no drone, want it louder than stock, but not deafening!
When I get to the headers and y-pipe, want to potentially be able to add a procharger later.

Any thoughts or recommendations?? What works well and what to avoid? thanks-

What state are you located in? I ask to know weather or not you can run Longtubes. I would recommend something like the Loudmouth II. ITs not to loud and it sounds nice and tuned. It gets loud if you need it to be but is pretty mellow if you dont stomp on it. For the headers I would recommend some Pacesetters or something along those lines and get then coated by jet-hot or something along those lines.

      Thanks, Eddie-
I'm in KS and not sure of the noise regulations, but should probably check. I heard the JetHot was good stuff!
I think I'm down to Corsa or Borla for the cat-backs, then will worry about the headers. It shouldn't be too loud after I put the cb on, but that will help me judge for the headers. Someone else mentioned to me about a "tuned" header might be a middle-of-the-road on noise?

To my knowledge, noise regulations are a city/county law, not a federal law like the catalytic converters. But like Eddie was sayin, some exhaust systems aren't LOUD-loud until 75% throttle like mine At the opposite side of the spectrum there are those cat-backs that are (annoying) loud at idle and cruising... do you have to pass smog inspection like CA ?

+1 on the Corsa or Borla! Those are the Cadillacs of the cat-backs IMO

I passed Inspection with my LMII. The guy even complimented my car on how nice it sounded. The officer at the CHP office when I went to get my ticket cleared loved the sound, And my car!

My exhuast is not to loud. The corse and Borla are very nice, but on the other hand, The borla is very loud with stock manifolds, And with headers, Your looking at having one hecka loud system. If you dont want it to be to loud you better get something else. And even worse if you can get away with a Cat-Delete. Keep that in mind.

I've been told that the Corsa may have the best fit and sound, so kindof leaning that way. But then I've been reading online about running true duals...kind of tempting....

Don't want to go too loud...wife and neighbors won't like it . So many of the other systems don't rate too high in quality and drone (which I don't want). Do you think running a single muffler is better than dual mufs?

Do you mean True Duals or ?
My system has just a resonator. Borla is just one muffler. The Corsa is the same thing.

Ya, it looked like the Borla had only one of the pipes with an exhaust, the other without, but I like their quad-intercooled tips!! I'm still leaning Corsa right now. Will probably order it this weekend.
