  • Plugs and wires

I'm going to change my plugs and wires this weekend I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on it or if they could tell me a link to a site on it.

i m not sure if i did mine as efficiently as possible but i removed the alternator and unbolted the steering pump
then i went under the car to do the drivers side and slid my hand between the fender well and the manifold on the right
I am a short person so I could fit fairly easy but if you have big hands you are better off to remove the y pipe and do that side from under neath also

        yeah have fun
it is definately a learning expierience
and after you are done bumbling through it the first time
the next time it shouldnt be bad at all. Heck with the dealer cost
besides I fix $50,000,000.00 F-15's so how hard can anything on the F-body be? Its all mind over matter anyway
if you have good attention to detail skills and the right attitude and the shear will you can tackle anything
Remember if it can be built it can definately be Un-built!!!

There is only 1 plug that is the hardest to change.... The #2 plug! Located on the front of the engine, passenger side. Remove the belt, and alternator. Get a stubby 3/8" drive socket wrench, and a flex sparkplug socket. I ended up getting so fustrated that I just opted to bend the metal air injection tubes out of the way, careful not to kink them if you decide to do that. I noticed that most sparkplug sockets do not allow the plug to go in all the way, and the ones that do, don't fit! Let me see if I can get a good pic...

            Here's the pic

Bought both for less than $20. Spent more than $20 on other sparkplug wrenches that looked like they would work, but didn't. Might be a good time to check/replace the wires. I found a nice set of wrenches that seem to be made for this car, worked great on the spark plug wire harness bolts! Crescent ratcheting wrenches
