  • Need little help with optispark install

I have a 97 T/A with LT1 and my water pump killed optispark. My problem is I can't get the 3 bolts out of the balancer. I know this probably sounds stupid but Just hoping somebody has a nice trick. The WD40 just not working for me.

WD40 is not an effective pentetrant. PBlaster is available at most auto stores. Spray the stuff on, tap the fastener a few times and let it sit. Spray some more, tap the faster again and they break loose.

Yep...what he said. WD40 is designed to displace water, hence the name Water Displacement (WD40).

Make sure you put a socket on the hub bolt to restrict the pulley from turning. Otherwise, as soon as you get enough force to break the bolts loose, the crank will want to spin.

Well finally got it off with help of breaker bar and alot of pblaster. The bolts had red loctite on them. I guess dealership did not want them to come loose.
