  • just one problem after head gasket change...

Everything is back, all sensors double checked, no leaks, but the engine still runing @ 1600....sometimes 2000 rpm at idle.
I have tried with other IAC and still doing the same.
I have reset the IAC with no luck.
I have doing some test looking for leaks around the intake and nothing.
    Fuel injectors are fine.
    what else to try?
    no codes.

    help please.

I would check for vacuum leaks in all hoses. Start the engine, spray a little starting fluid around all emissions hoses and intake manifold ports. Any leaks will show up. It's also possible that the a/c circuit is causing an elevated rpm. ( Normally the rpm is increase when the a/c compressor is engaged.)

Have you checked the throttle cable, to make sure its allowing the blades to close fully?

Engine can't idle at 1,600-2,000RPM unless its getting a lot of air from somewhere. Vacuum leaks, missing O-rings on the injectors, poorly installed intake manifold gaskets, gasket behind the throttle body, IAC bottomed out, etc.

Do you have access to a scanner? IF so, check the IAC counts, and closed throttle TPS voltage for starters. Also make sure the coolant temp sensor is connected and showing the correct coolant temp. If the PCM thinks the engine is ice cold, it increases the idle RPM (but never to 2,000 rpm).

        I got it.

21 Throttle Position (TP) sensor circuit (signal voltage high)

Brand new TPS sensor and now the engine its running great!!!

        thanks guys!!!
