I was able to finally get new wires and plugs for the T/A. I got MSD 8.5mm red wires and NGK platinum plugs. On the box that the plugs came in it says to not gap them because you might damage the thin electrode and they are gapped now at .40 as are all the NGK's I saw. Should I ignore this and gap them anyway or leave it at .40? Also I couldn't find Taylor 8mm wires and the iridium plugs were more than I could afford.

.040 (not .40) is not going to hurt anything, but you should check them all to be sure that is what it is.Rob B 95Z A4 Tech Page (Part numbers / locations, how to's, schematics, DTC's...) Home Page - shbox.com

I thought it was the Iridium plugs that had the thin center electrode????Fred

Yes I thought so too, but platinums are also thin. The Iridiums come to a sharp point but the platinums come to a very small flat tip. Hopefully the plugs are at least gapped at .040. I'll be doing this next weekend as I will be out of town for the week.
