  • Just bought a 9000 mile 94z vert and have ?'s

Ok i just picked up a 94z28 convertible with 9000 miles. I definately need to start modifying this pig. What are the best vert sub frame connectors out there? It is hard going from a 12.5 quarter 94z to a heavy stock pig vert. Some of you may rem me from long ago. Any tips about convertibles would be helpful.
    Thanks
    Brandon

To tell u the truth if I bought a '94 Z with only 9,000 miles I wouldn't touch it, but that's just me. Wow, that is very hard to find! If you do modify it keep in mind you're convertible. That's 500 extra pounds its like racing with 4 people in your car at all times! Very nice buy!

I think the published weight difference for the convertibles is less than 100#.

A friend of mine ran mid-9's with a 30th SS convertible, and had very good results with the MAC tubular subframe connectors. OF course, he had a full cage when he went under 10.00, but before that, the MAC SFC's were fine.

that would be george b's car right Fred? last time i saw anything about it, it said that he was gonna change the motor again and try to go faster. Did he do that?

Yep. He has a 1,325HP SBC Gen 1 setup, on a Dart Iron Eagle block, Brodix heads, still a 383/Vortech SC. The car weighs several 100#'s less and sports wheelie bars, a pro stock style spoiler and wheel wells large enough to handle 29.5" slicks, on super light weight Bogart rims. There are rumors that the 1,325HP is in PRO/Edelbrock Extreme Street compliant configuration, and that there may be more like 1,500HP available with a few tweeks....

He ran into some personal issues that slowed him down, but last time I was at Second Street the car was in the bay, ready for the final wiring..... to the latest MoTeC M880 ECU. I suspect it will not run until Spring 2004.

I've posted these before, but its always fun to look at the high tech stuff.

My 94 vert has a solid frame under it front to back. It looks like the factory put in peices to connect the subframes already. How would SFC's be installed here if this is the case? I'm kinda confused by this now. Please explain.
