I dunno- prices on these have been dropping sharply- first, the newest 4th gen is now at least 8 years old- next, the gas mileage, while better than you would think, is still not like an economy car- and most people still are worried about gas prices going up- Lastly, the new Camaro is out, and that is where the high-bidding buyers are going--
I bought my LS1, 2001, 3 years ago, in '06, at 78 k mi, for $9300- 3 model years older, even at that mileage, what would it have cost now? And this was a dealer, not a private sale- He had it listed at $10,000 and could tell I was barely interested-
Keep shopping- I would be leary of buying any car that had some of the mods in that one- you know it was raced hard. I would only consider buying it if it was so cheap that I could be in a position of being able to replace the motor or transmission without spending more on the car than it was worth- or, maybe, if I trusted the dealer, some sort of very good warranty- in writing-2001 Z28 A4 - 160 deg t-stat, 3.42 gears, WS6 sway bars, rear springs and shocks, UMI SFC's, Torque Arm and STB, leather Firebird seats, Borla, SLP Y-pipe and lid, ZO6 cam and springs - 332 RWHP and 346 RWTQ, not bad for 'almost stock' - work in progress

As of lately I have found 2 cars I am truthfully interested in. 1986 IROC and a 2002 35th SS. iroc has 55k original and SS has 30k original, salvage title. I'm scared of the salvage title though, but I'll carfax it, it was only a front end collision I'm told, with damage to quarter panels and front bumper. Either way... what are thoughts on that?

to happen. You could EASILY get an LS1 for that price.
