No, not the habit.

I drove home from school today, 1 mile. Noticed my temp gauge was on the half like (like 200-210far), got home, noticed light white smoke dumping from my still on car. Turned the off car. Popped the hood, opened the hood, smoke blew away, still smoke coming from oil filter/oil pan/dipstick tube when I checked level. since my car was just on, oil was all over the place on the dipstick, but pretty high. checked about 10 minutes ago, its at full still.

1994 v6 automatic

head gaskets replaced at 63000 miles, hit 73000 yesterday. Oil+Filter replaced 3000 miles ago.


I really have no idea what happened here, but does anyone have a clue? No, I'm not tech savvy when it comes to cars.

Could it be my coolant? Thermostat? Oil? No idea.

If oil is being pushed out the dipstick tube, the crankcase is being pressurized from a combustion event. It could be headgasket, bad rings, or even things like a cracked block. The PCV system is supposed to remove the normal pressure and fume buildup, if that's not functioning you could see some oil leakage if you are at wide open under load.

What did the smoke smell like? If it smelled like caramelized sugar, it's a coolant leak.
