  • GM ZO6 wheels on F-body- Quick please

Some guy is selling some ZO6 wheels. They are GM wheels. they are all 18"x10.5" all the way around.

My question is, will with a ZO6 offset 18" work in the rear of my car?

Im about to buy these wheels ASAP and need to make sure.

    I'm sure they will...

I was about to buy a set of Z06s for my car from a coworker, but they looked funny when I test fitted them, although I only test fitted the front (17x9)...so I passed.

Now that I think about it...It will, 295s on 10.5s I believe. Should tuck in nicely...

Should've test fitted the rear too...

      Sorry...LOL!

The guy said I would have to run a spacer in the front.

The factory C5 Z06 REAR wheels are 18 x 10.5 with a 58mm offset. That gives them a backspace of a shade over 8.0". That might fit in the back, but you are going to have to heavily hammer the inner fender liners, cut the projecting edge off the jounce bumper bracket, and probably recenter the body over the chassis with an adjustable panhard rod. That backspace is slightly larger than the 7.93" BS on my 17x11 wheels, and its a tight fit.

That said, fitting them in the front will definitely take a spacer. And they will be at or outside the edge of the front fender. You can run about a 7.5" max BS in the front, so you need a spacer in the range of 1/2" to 5/8". That's not a "spcaer" per se, but a pair of adapters.... the adapters bolt to the stock studs, and have a new set of studs for the wheels.

The calculated "front space" will be about 3.5" plus the spacer moves it out at least 1/2" , so you have the wheel 4" out from the face of the front hub. By comparison, the stock SS or WS6 17x9 wheels stick out about 2.9" from the face of the hub. Look at a stock SS or WS6, then picture what the wheels/tires will look like moved 1.1" further toward the outside edge of the fender. If you like the tires sticking out that much, you are OK, but you will definitely have rubbing of the front fenders and inner fender liners when you have the front wheels at full lock.

          The C5 Z06 uses 17 x 9.5" 54mm offset wheels.

THanks a million fred. The guy stated that he got away with a 7/16" spacer in the from which would not make the tires stick out so much. You think he is full of poop?

I dont want the wheels to be sticking out of the front fenders. Thats ghetto!

The rears I dont see an issue, I have an adjustable Panhard and my fenders are rolled so I should be ok. Theinner fender well Ill hammer is, no problem. My biggest concern is the fronts.

295's on my butt with Z06's 18"x10.5" 58mm offset. I did all the hammer tricks and bump stop mod. My fronts are 17"s though with 275s'

Oops...failed to realize it was 18s up front too. That obvously wouldn't fit...my 275s rub the finder linings.

                  msfyter, that rear is beefy...

What size are the front wheels and tires? Are all 4 wheels the same size?
