96 Firehawk--Whats it worth

I purchase salvage cars for a living, and was curious about this vehicle. It is very nice and was well cared for. Has only 32,000 miles. All original, including exhaust as far as I could tell. Car was hit in the front end, and the airbags deployed, but the car is rebuildable, and has a salvage title. Just curious how much this car is worth in comparison to a regular 96 T/A and what the modifications are that make it unique.

I'm wanting to know what the car was worth prior to being wrecked, not for salvage. I know what its worth for salvage

Those values cannot be right for a used car? Is that what they cost new, or what NADA shows them to be worth now? Man, I know 32k is low miles, but DAMN! My black book shows alot less value on the TA, about 8k loan even adding for the low miles. Thanks for the help man, just really susprised at the numbers. I guess my hope that the Firehawk was more valuable was right. Anyone know how many Firehawks were built in 1996?

Hmmm I would go by the lower retail value. Kelly Blue Book has it a couple thousand cheaper than that for a private party sale though. Retail value is always gonna be higher. Also the rebuilt car won't be worth quite as much as one that had not been wrecked. These cars were pretty expensive when new so they're still worth a decent amount....Later

Any idea how many were built in 96, and what colors were available. It is 6spd, red with grey cloth.

A Firehawk with CLOTH INTERIOR? I have never seen one, and did not know it was even available. Now a red 96 WS6 Formula (not a Firehawk) with cloth is extremely rare itself, but I have never seen a real Firehawk with cloth. By the way, a Firehawk is a Formula not a Trans Am.

Well, I really tried to see if this car was a fake or not, and that was the only thing that made me think that it might be (cloth). All signs say that it is the real thing. Either that, or someone spent WAY too much money copying one. It has the hurst shifter with knob, correct Firehawk markings on the LH headlight, doors and rear, Firehawk floormats, correct hood (functional R/A) and spoiler. The cloth must be rare, or I take crappy notes while looking at these cars ( which is really possible, since I must have looked at 350 cars today!!) I swear it was cloth though. Can anybody verify this????

BTW, this car was a formula, not a T/A. I just figured the T/A would give me a better price comparison.

All that stuff you mention is easily copied. The only way to tell is by looking at the SPID label in the drivers door. Ken can give you all the codes for a real Firehawk. Also, I believe the tier 1 cars (which Firehawks are) have an ID plate or some marking somewhere in them that verifies they were legitimate cars. Otherwise, it's a Formula knockoff or a Formula WS6 with Firehawk badging.

Don't feel bad though, if it's not a real Firehawk but is a real WS6 Formula, you still have one of only 105. And of the red cloth cars, this is only the second one I've ever heard of.

our 97 hawk has cloth interior. thats what mary wanted.

all you have to do is go the the Firehawk Owners Assoc. of AMerica's site....... they have it all there. all the numbers.

Nobody I knew had ever seen a WS6 Formula with cloth interior until I got mine, so I guess you learn something everyday.

I can't speak as much for the Firehawk prices but the TA price is WAY too high. I paid $3K below the bottom price for mine 6 months ago and it had 49k on it. Edmunds.com is more realistic although they have no estimate for Firehawks.
