  • Airbag light comes on

Hey do you guys know if a basic obd scanner will read the airbag system codes, or is there an airbag specific scanner-that a dealership might have. The airbag light comes on when I hit a really large bump or pothole, it happens pretty rarely. When I restart the car- the light stays off but it flashes a warning code. Any ideas? A loose connection somewhere or something?
    thanks

Your run-of-the-mill scanners will not read the air bags. Check under your dash for any connectors and make sure they are tight.

Prob. the air bag sensor under the front bumper. They go bad even on alot of new cars. Easy job, buy the part and do it yourself.
