  • LT1 oil level sensor

my low oil level sensor is a bit loose, but before i screw it out i feel i need a question answered from some of you who know. i assume the oil pan has a welded boss that the sensor and its copper gasket screws into correct? if i unscrew the sensor out of the oil pan there is NOT?? anything gonna drop down into the sump correct? it simply screws in and out of the pan at its threads correct?

As long as the sensor is not broken, the whole thing should slide out. It is a few inches long.
