Saturday afternoon when I started my car, it made a loud flapping noise (like a baseball card stuck in bicycle spokes). Lasted for a few seconds and then disappeared. Car drove fine, all gauges were fine, no "check engine lights." Figured it was just a fluke thing.
Sunday morning, I started it up, flapping noise was louder and this time did not stop. Put it in gear, and the noise got louder and faster as I hit the gas. Decided not to drive it that day.
This morning, the same thing. Started up, flapping persisted, but then went away once I left the apartment parking lot and got down the road a few tenths of a mile. Stopped in NTB, told them what was happening. They had it all day and couldn't figure it out. Referred me to a local exhaust shop. I drove it home and had no problems. I did notice when I parked it and revved the engine a little, that the exhaust did seem to sound a little off.
Any thoughts as to what this could be?
