  • pop-up headlamp not working

On my '97 Firebird TA WS6 the driver side headlamp has stopped working, the passenger side works fine. Years ago both of the motors gave out (and caused that super-loud grinding noise), both were replaced under warranty.

Now, if I use the manual knob to raise the headlamp I can then use the switch in the car to lower it. And then it works fine for a while, the switch will raise it and lower it. But the next day it always stops working. Oh, when the switch fails to raise the lamp there is no noise whatsoever (at that I can hear from inside the car).

    Any clues?

    Thanks,
    -Jason

    Hmm, reading this page:

I think I have possible cause #5 - possibly a corroded connector or the light is jammed into place.
