  • Fuel pump installation help

    Hey guys,

I'm in the middle of installing a new walbro pump (trap door method), and as I was working on getting the bucket and everything re-seated, I noticed one of the rubber hoses coming from the bucket lid was unhooked at the other end. One hose goes to the far left fuel line, and it seems like this one would connect to the 2nd line from the left (vapor line)? Sorry if its confusing, I'm just not sure how to explain it.

I guess my main question is: are both rubber hoses from the bucket cap suppose to be connected to something? It just seems weird that the 2nd hose would just be open on one end... Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the response Raro. I got the pump all hooked up and its working great. Feels weird having my car start on the first turn haha. Would somebody be able to explain what that hose does thats not connected? I hate putting something back together and not understanding it...Thanks for the help!

well the stub goes to the charcoal cannister and the hose with the kink in it that doesnt connect to anything goes to vent the bucket to the top of the tank where there's air, and the return hose fills the bucket with recirculated gas.

Thank you both for your responses. The install wasn't too bad, just wasn't sure exactly how everything worked. Its amazing that my car actually starts without having to turn the key to the on position ten times haha. Thank you all again!

Yea, I know what you're talking about, I just left the bucket out and set up my own return system. Works great with or without it.
