Anyone know if I can run 255/50ZR16's on the stock rims? I have the Firehawk SZ50EP's in 245/50ZR16's all around, but they don't seem to have their original grab on the pavement. I am going to be going back to the track sunday, and was wondering if the 255's would be a wise choice for the rear tires. Will they fit on the rims?

I dont see why not. my car came factory with 275-40-17 on stock rims and one of my friends has 295-40-17 on the back if not bigger but i would not go to big because you dont want your tire to give out and blow.

315's maybe.
too wide for the rim. the casing cant do its job. the contact patch is no diff than a 275 or 285. bad move.

found 1 tire 255/50ZR16 SZ50EP, and they still couldn't match tireracks price. Guess I will have to wait for next year. Not worth the dough, since I intend to upgrade to 17 or 18" rims eventually. Thanks for the input everyone1995 Firebird Formula
