5.3 conversion

[78 olds-trans am]

I'm planning on puttn a 5.3 in my 78 trans am. What would I have to change or do to make it fit? Is there a kit out there that would make it easier? I got the motor for free so I wanna experiment w a turbo on it too, do they have kits for them?

You're gonna need:

• Adapter motor mounts
• Custom crossmember and tranny mount
• 5.3 engine complete with peripherals (yup, I see you have the engine)
• Compatible transmission
• You'll probably have to have your driveshaft modified to fit
• ECM and Harness (unless you want to go carb'd)
• Fuel system upgrade to convert to EFI (unless you go carb)
• Exhaust (they probably make conversion headers.

My buddy just put a C5R 427 in his 2nd gen Camaro. Let me know if you need info and I'll ask him where he bought his conversion parts.

Btw, I'm in the process of putting an LS6/T56 in my S10 pickup.

Your conversion will be much easier than mine. I have to mess with cooling and tight spaces.
