  • Fluid leak thru connector

    94 Firebird w/ a 3.4L V6

    4L60e is leaking fluid thru a rear 2 wire electrical connector as shown in the photos below:





    What is this connection and how can it be fixed? (Don't need replace tranny advice.)

    Yeah, OK Figured out that it is the Speed sensor output. Soo, is this repairable or do I buy a new one?

      If it is not the VSS o-ring around the outside (which you can buy), then replace the sensor.

        No way that fluid from a leaking O-ring could get over the flange wall for the connector, past the weatherpac seal & pool in the connector cavity. It's leaking where the prongs emerge thru the hard plastic casing.

        I'll clean the female cavity and male connector. Squirt some blue silicone gasket sealer into the cavity, insert the connector and let cure. That should stop the leak.
