How many of you leave your fog lights on...?

What do yal think about Eurolite Plasma Xenon gas filled headlight bulbs?... Are they safe on a camaro or should I just get a regular replacement bulb?...
    Thanks

I leave mine turned on whenever the headlights are lit.

Aren't what we have on our cars driving lights? I only turn mine on when I am on a dark highway. All they do is light up the road in front of the car a little ways. In fact, mine OEM ones are beamed very narrow vertically. I don't see any point in running them during the day, or in the city with street lights.

When I was a kid I used to run driving lights all the time, I thought it looked cool. I suppose an argument could be made that is makes you more visable. I think it looks cooler to leave them off now. Call it "reverse snobbery" if you will. Kinda like having the fastest car at the intersection and being the slowest one out.

I run mine all the time, usually headlights too at least on the highway. I like anything that makes it a bit tougher for a laser radar to lock on me with no front plate and a dull finish black bra, my bird is a pretty tough target especially when the driving lamps are on.

Only when it's...foggy. I'm to the point now where when it's not foggy (which is just about 99% of the time) and someone coming the opposite way has their foglights on, I just put my high beams on them.

I usually put the fog lamps on at night on all my cars. So all the idots out there that think they need to pull out in front of me can hopefully see my car better.

if I'm not mistaken...some of us are getting foglamps and highbeams confused...

fogs are the ones that you can mounted on the bumpers on our cars...
highbeams are the ones that we have to pull the column stalk to activate...

correct me if I'm wrong...but I'll be pissed as some one who's behind me and had the beams on the whole time.

Well the thread starter has fog lights in the subject but then goes on asking questions about headlight bulps.

I hate cars with high beams coming towards me and driving behind me too. That's when it helps to have some potent high beams too to make the oncoming car with highbeam on aware of it. Some still don't get it and probably curse my a.. for turning my beams on.

What I hate even more are people coming towards you on a 2 lane hwy driving halfway in your lane. Sometimes even flicking the lights doesn't help the just keep coming. I found that pulling over into their lane gets their attention quickly and they move back into theiur lane. Of course you can only do that when they are not to close yet.

I didn't get the two confused. I'm just saying, having foglights on is unneccesary most of the time. And hey, if a driver can blind me so they can see better, I can too, with my highbeams.

I don't use my fog lights to blind oncoming traffic. I use them so that people will see me and not pull out in front of me causing an accident. The more light, the more likely it is they will see me. Besides, the headlights on the 93-97 Camaro suck and need all of the help they can get.

Oh and as for the legal aspects of it, in Georgia, you are allowed to have 2 fog lights on your car and use them all of the time. It is illegal to have your high beams on when there is oncoming traffic.

right right, I just don't buy into your reasoning that's all. To avoid a mess I'm just going to back out of this one, I don't forsee any views changing.

I leave mine on whenever my headlights are on. They seem to help a little. I need to do the mod where they stay on all the time with the High beams. I think any help with the somewhat poor lighting is an improvement. There is a difference between fogs and driving lights though. Driving lights project a narrower beam further out to suppliment the head lights. Fog lights project a lower wide beam to light up just the road a shortways in front of the car for foggy conditions where highbeams make visiblity worse. Maybe someday I'll switch them over to the driving light style instead of fogs then they'd definately help with the poor lighting..... Later

Okay maybe I should have seperated the questions into seperate threads...

I am thinking about getting brighter bulbs for my low beams and my fog/driving lights... But I am not really sure if I want to... Most people I see on the street have there fog lights on and most of the time I use mine too, but I am not sure if I want to change my bulbs for them yet... I mean they are already white, but not as bright as xenon or hid bulbs be... So what do yal think...

Oh... and my reason for starting this thread was because I seen people with there park lights on and the fog lamps just a blazin'... Now since my car has the Automatic Headlamps it turns my head lights on when its dark and I was just wondering if yal would leave the fog lights on all the time then...

                          Thanks yal...

well...since I switched mine to KC 100 watt Highlights...

only on when on dark highways alone. My K/C Highlights with 100 watt offroad bulbs make the regular factory beams look like candles. I bet you they light up the road for a 1/2 mile. They are amazing, but you have to treat them like highbeams. Off with oncoming traffic.

One of these days I'm going to figure out how to wire them in with the highbeams.

Fog lights don't blind oncoming traffic.

They should be pointed down on the
                              ground below the headlights.
