ok all I did was replace the positive battery cable and changed it from side terminals to top and now all my car will do is crank and not start. You guys got any ideas?

Check the fuses. You might have popped one in all the wire changes. Most likely the fuel pump one.

Maybe it has something to do with the computer in the car then. Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds or so, hook it back up, and try it again. That's just a shot in the dark, but if all the fuses are fine, then there's no telling what's wrong.

Usually it's one of two things. Either no spark or no fuel. Two tools any home mechanic should have is a spark tester and a fuel pressure gauge. The spark tester is an inexpesive tool that is basically like an open spark plug. You pull off each plug wire one at a time, clip it on the end of the tester and clip the tester to ground. When the motor is turned over, if there is visible spark, you know that's not the problem. Test the wire out of the coil and each plug wire. The fuel pressure gauge hooks up to the schrader valve on the fuel rail and you test for proper fuel pressure. If both of these are good and the motor still doesn't run, it is most likely a timing issue.

Joe has a good point. There are only a few things a car needs to run. Fuel, spark, compression and the proper timing of all of these. Get the tools Joe mentioned and start testing. If you find it has no spark, then there is set of tests you can narrow it down to. If no fuel, then a different set of tests. However, keep in mind that just because fuel is in the rail (checked with a pressure guage) doesnt necessarily mean the engine is getting fuel. Add a noid light to your list of tools (cheap). This ensure the injectors are firing (in case you blew a fuse for the fuel inj. or there is another elec. issue).

First find out which of the necessities (fuel, spark, compression,) you are missing and let us know, then we can give you more direction.
