I was told by a trans mechanic that a bigger stall converter would not really help much unless you have done a lot of mods. I would call a few local shops to see what they say.

    99 T/A WS-6
SLP strut tower brace, SLP sub-frame connectors, SLP intake, SLP Loudmouth exhaust, shift kit, SLP suspension system, SLP y-pipe
2004 Mineral Gray Mustang Mach1 (stock, but ordering the SLP Loudmouth)
88 IROC-Z, ZZ430 CRATE MOTOR, Flowmaster exhaust, MOSER 12-bolt with gears, and a few other mods.

Stall speed should be matched to the power band of the cam and intake combo you are running. For instance, if your power band starts at 2500 rpm, then you want a simliar stall. If it starts at 3500 rpm, then bump up the stall. Stall is when the torque convertor makes maximum torque multiplication. You want this to happen at the beggining of your powerband, so you can brake to the stall speed and launch the car in the powerband for a hard launch.

Now, I have repeated this before on the forum. It is very difficult for a company (like B@M or others) to mass produce a convertor for a specific trans and dial in an exact stall speed. There is so much more to determining stall than the transmission type. A good custom made convertor has the vehicle type, trans, weight, cam, intake and many other variables added into the formula for setting a stall speed for the VEHICLE. All the convertors I have ever bought were custom made for the vehicle and that allows me to pick an exact stall speed. The cost is actually less than some of the convertors you would buy from Summit or Jegs.
