  • Got the Z on the track finally

Went to Orlando Speedworld on Wednesday night and got a couple of runs in before the rain hit us. I'm pretty happy with the results. I ran a 14.13 my first run. I was really babying it off the line since this was my first time at the track with it. On my second run I got on it a little harder and pulled a 14.037 Oooh sooo close I think I could have launched a little harder and got into the 13s I guess we'll have to wait untill next time since the rains came and shut us down. The coolest part was my last run they lined me up against a LS1 Firehawk(sweeet car). Thought I'd get my butt handed to me. Well turns out I actually beat him....Wooohooo! Even though he ran a 13.5XX I beat him across the finish line becuase I cut a .527 light and he was sleeping on the line with a 1.something. He almost caught me at the end though. Those LS1s sure have it on the top end. It was a really fun time. Can't wait to do some exhaust stuff and go back and get into the 13s. Will be a first for me. Oh, by the way at our track if you run a 13.99 or under you have to wear a helmet or they won't let you run Safety I guess but seems kinda excessive. That's OK better safe than sorry ya know. Looks like I better borrow one before I come back though.

Nice light.....anytime you hit .599 or better, consistantly, your doing pretty good.

What kind of MPH were you running throught the traps? If your in the high 90's, you should have that 13.99 with a bit of practice on the launch. Have fun!

My first run was at SLP CAD day. Got a 14.12 @ 99.80. After the Loudmouth install I went back for the last day at Island Dragway, ran a 14.002 @ 99.xx with the tires aired down to 32psi in the rear. Spinning the SZ50EP's most of the way, then falling flat 70-99mph. When I was for them to clean up the track, I did a quick Zaino touchup with the spray gloss enhancer..... 13.923 @ 99.2x, and 13.990 @ 99.4x. Good tires should get me further into the 13's, and gotta do some traction work too. An old nova handed it to me though, 10.4xx @ 132? He was at like 103mph in the 8th, and was running street tires!! Think the Zaino almost gave me a tenth

My Mph was 98.89 so hopefully with a little better launch I'll be in the thirteens. My 60' time was 2.164. I think I may add a cutout just for fun. I don't know how much it'll help but at least my car will sound meaner going down the track. That Firehawk completely drowned me out . I'll post and let y'all know how it goes next time I get out to the track. Later guys

How many psi do you usually run in them?

Pretty good for a 1st time out!!! Get that 60' down and you'll be in the 13's easy.

I ran consistant 1.8-1.9 on my SZ50s when I first started out...aired em' down to 22psi...that might help in your 60'.

              13s are within reach!

I had the same question..... I would think that's the pressure you would normally run them on the street, and you'd want them closer to 25psi at the track?????
