I posted some time ago that my tilt steering column had some play in it. If i push downward on the steering wheel the entire column from the tilt joint back will spring down 1/2 inch. It is bad enough now that the ignition will no longer stay in the acc. position. Somehow this thing is getting looser.
I cannot remember who replyed, but I was told there were some bolts to tighten deep within the column and I would have to pull the wheel and dig deep down into it.
Well.... I just did. I pulled the wheel, removed the airbag coil and lockplate, removed the turn signal switch and the ignition cylinder. Then i removed the plastic cover over the column and found nothing. There is not as far as I can see anything to tighten. So.. What is up? Did I miss something?? Does anyone have pictures of the bolt heads showing where they are located?
Man, that steering column is a complicated piece of hardware. I would not recommend anyone that didn't have some good skills pulling it apart.
I put it all back together, but if someone has some good documentation on what to tighten i will try again.
