I have a 1972 455HO in my T/A. Drives great then suddenly stops no stuttering nothing just stops then automatically starts again. This occurs a few times then stops. Try to start but tries to catch but doesn't, smells of fuel .Several minutes later it starts and runs great for a while. The only change was I replaced my edelbrock with a Holley 650

Maybe something with distributer or coil would be where I would start...I had a distributer with a broken wire to connector once.
