  • Who is college football's best team?

After Oklahoma proved that they too are human, USC will likely not make it into the National Championship game, DESPITE being #1 in both polls... so... it looks like USC will play Michigan in the Rose Bowl, and LSU will play Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.

My question is... who do you all think really is the best team in college football?

Personally, I think the USC/Michigan game will decide it, and I think USC is the best team in the land.

LSU is the SEC champ........that wins over the pathetic PAC 10 anyday. USC has played NO ONE this year, we'll see if Michigan can expose them for what they are....just a little sissy west coast team. OU got their butt handed to them yesterday but they're still probably better than USC.

                LSU, and here's why.

Oklahoma could not even win their own conference championship. If you can't win that, you shouldn't even play for the national title. Besides that, LSU beat the number 5 team in the nation, and Oklahoma lost to the number 15 team in the nation. Oklahoma shouldn't even have been considered.

Michigan has not had a strong enough schedule to be in the title hunt.

LSU's win, plus Notre Dame's loss put them ahead of USC in 6 of the 7 computers, so LSU should be ahead of USC.

It should be LSU and USC in the title hunt. However, LSU is gonna beat Oklahoma and USC will lose to Michigan, so we will have an undisputed national champion

If LSU and Michigan win... I think that will only cause more controversy...

You say it is such a big deal that LSU won their conference and beat Georgia... woopty-doo... Michigan won their conference, beating the defending National Champs, and the #2 ranked team (at the time). The Big Ten is a very strong schedule top to bottom... Michigan definitely has a tough schedule.

With 2 losses, I don't think they deserve to be in the title hunt, but I definitely think they are every bit as talented as the other three teams.

Personally, I think LSU is the weakest of the three teams, and I am quite certain Michigan or USC would beat the daylights out of them.

All I can say is, WHAT A FREAKIN MESS. I don't see how the heck the number 1 team is playing in the Rose Bowl and 2 and 3 are playing eachother for the championship? What if number 4 beats number 1 but 2 beats 3?

There is no way there is going to be a "fair" unified #1 this year. The only way now is to declare Co-champions between the winners of the two games.

I am happy for the Rose Bowl though. That, IMO, is The Real Championship.

I guess I am looking to see OU and LSU have a really ugly game and then Michigan whip the crap out of USC

Since most of you guys are northern you probably did not see OU play most of their other games. They were #1 the whole season and whupped @$$ on every team they played. of the games were even close. 77-0 when they played Texas A&M 64-17 (numbers a little off ) on Texas they beat their rival OSU badly and OSU beat Kansas.

Kansas played a good game and definitely deserved the win that day but to be fair it was obvious that our guys were not playing like they usually do.

I saw LSU play and while they did well I see OU having no problem beating them or USC. I think the biggest reason for our loss Saturday was the loss of our defensive coach to Arizona. you throw that stuff into a season and it does distract from teh game at hand. USC better be ready next year with Mike Stoops at the helm of Arizona they won't be in the title hunt for a while.

It does appear that the "coasts" do not think much of teams from the midwest but we are great team and have a great division we proved that in 2000 with a no loss season and thsi year we will prove it with a one loss season.

One last thing that you may not know, Kansas state has Bobby Stoops former boss from Iowa as a player and coach as well as Kansas St. when Bob took quite a few coaches fom Snyder. these two coaches knew each other inside and out and Bob Stoops got the best of Snyder the last three years. Unfortunately, we could not make it four.

Say what you want but the BCS called it right, we had the tougher season then the other teams, we had to play a division championship whereas USC did not have to play and White has the best quarterback record for this year even with his poor performance on Saturday. It is no fluke that 9 of our guys were put on first string of the all stars team and it wil not be a fluke when OU beats LSU at home on the fourth.

Nothing said here should be taken harshly it is just my opinion and one that most of Oklahoma and the big 12 agree with.

Actually, Notre Dame had the toughest, and Alabama was second. Oklahoma "only" had the 5th toughest schedule.

We'll see what happens at the game. LSU hasn't won a national championship in many a year, and they are not going to let Oklahoma just run away with it. You are going to see a game out of LSU that you haven't seen in a long while. And we all know the SEC has the best conference in all of college football

First of all, the Big Ten is the toughest conference top to bottom in college football. There is no question. At one point during the season, 7 teams were ranked in the top 17. Last year, the Big Ten won the trophy that goes to the conference that has the best winning percentage in bowl games.

Oklahoma is no doubt a great team... I still think they are fantastic. There loss to KState was a fluke just like Michigan losing to Oregon.

There are four teams that could all give each other one hell of a game.

There needs to be a playoff. Get rid of these stupid bowls.

The Big 10, er 12, is never a weak conference.

That being said, I think all 4 teams have a fair claim to the throne if they win their bowl game. I just hope that one of the four teams wins so decisively that the BCS will not be able to screw up the rankings.
