  • CD Changer Pictures

Well I'm still looking into getting a CD changer for my 97 T/A. I finally was able to check the trunk and I have 6/4 connector to hook up a changer to run with my Monsoon.

Does anybody have any pictures of a changer installed in the trunk of a T/A? Would appreciate it. Thanks

I have a Sony 10 disc that I stuck in the spare tire area. Sorry no pics but it does work. I have a AAA membership so I don't care about the donut. Unfortunately I'll have to relocate it when I get Nitrous.

          Thanks guys.

I'm used to seeing them in the vertikal position. When I found some places to buy them from they said it had to be horizontal. Just wanted to confirm that.

I guess looking at it now you wouldn't have enough space to pull out the magazine with it being vertikal.

As I always say, a picture is worth more than a thousand words

I've got a 50 disc in mine, and kept the t-top holders and a 15# bottle in the quarter panel

Would you mind sharing some details about the 50 disk changer?

No problem. It's actually a 50+1, it was made by Pioneer in 97 or 98 I believe. It is a huge changer, and I do mean huge. Dimensions are probably 12" wide, 10" deep, and 12" high, so it's not something you can tuck away and keep unnoticeable. It is a direct link only changer, as in they don't make an RF modulator for it (not that I am aware of anyway). However, it is of the newest technology, so if you go out and buy a 2003 radio it is still compatible. I also have voice recognition on it and the radio as well. Basically, I tell the radio what to do and it does it, or I tell the CD changer what CD to play and it plays it. I hardly ever use it, but it sure is cool to show off when people come up with these new radios with pictures or videos of their cars on them. I also have a voice activated cell phone. All I need now is a voice activated car that way I can sleep while it drives

I have a Sony CD Changer in mine...

I have a Sony 10 Disc changer in mine too... But my car came with the basic AC Delco Cassette/AM/FM with 4 speakers... I went to a local Circuit City to have them install it and 4 2-way speakers... And I had them mount it in the open space in the left of the trunk (the picture above is the same place I had them mount it) and I still can store my tops, But my passenger side top is not completely mounted in the top holders... And the door on the cd changer makes a little dent on the seal of the passenger side top...

                  Later...
                  Thanks

Take it back and have them move it. They have a lifetime installation warranty. Let them know they can move it now or buy you a new t-top everytime your seal gets dented.

Okay... And they'll probably charge me out the ying/yang for the moving it about a quarter of an inch... Right? And before it took them about 2-3 hours to get to my car... How long this time?

Second... a friend of mine couldn't find or put it this way, she didn't look for the amp that comes with the monsoon system and she decided to put an amp in the trunk inside a box that sits in between the t-top holders... and now she can't use them... But she says it a real inconvience to remove the tops and then having to put them on again... What can she do about the box situation since she doesn't want to remove it?...
                      Thanks

If the changer is affecting the operation of the vehicle, the proper thing to do is to move it. If the installers won't do it or want to charge you, go straight to the Sales and Installation Manager (called an SNI Manager) or to the store manager. If they still won't do it, tell them you want the number to corporate offices. Once they realize that you aren't playing around, they will send somebody out there. Because if corporate gets a call, then the managers manager calls, and that is never a good call.

As far as the amp goes, have them move it to the cubby hole or on the back wall of the car. I've put an amp on the very back part of the car before, even though I really didn't like that idea. I had no choice because the customer bought a stealthbox and didn't want the amp interfering with the t-top holders and didn't want it under the seats. So he told me to put it back there. It actually ended up looking nice, and the hush panel in the back hid the amp.

Hay thanks for the info... I didn't know he was going to put it there and I wouldn't be able to store one of my tops... But I think I'll have them move it...

But one more question, I have already put my t-top back there once and all it did was bend the leading edge of my passenger top and not allow me to secure it down properly... So does that mean I need to replace that side top... Quote: "... IT DOES NOT LEAK OR ANYTHING..." Do I still need to replace it though?...
                          Thanks

Don't know about the t-top leakage thing. If it leaks, Circuit City just bought it
