  • Went sliding sunday mornin...w/in.>>>

    Hi all.
Well my Hawk is damaged. I was traveling back from Indy sunday mornin. Around midnight. Christmas shopping and all.
From Indy to Shelbyville roads were clear. Then when I hit Shelbyville to Greensburg (were I live) nothing but ice and snow.
No snow crews at all in sight. I drove 35 to 50 depending on the road. Mostly 35 is all I and everyone else could go. Well I was behind a semi driver. Had snow in my face. I slowed down to 30 but it still was not enough. The Hawk hit a patch of soft snow and ice and away I went. No one was around behind me. So I held on for the ride. I was in the middle of both north and south bound sections.
People were driving by on the north bound lane. Didn't even stop to see if I was alright. Buttheads. Anyway. I got a ride from a couple who live in my town. I got a hold of a tow truck. 70 dollars later I got home at 2 in the mornin. My Service Light is on and I tried to reset the computer but it came on again on the bypass today.
I have a appointment Wed. to see what is wrong with it. Smells like something is burnning. I looked and could not see anything. Just cluch smell as well. I cannot use the Hawk for car shows anymore.
The paint is scratched and pitted all over after I washed it today.
Oh Well!!!!! Add one more thing to being unemployeed and divorced and deep in dept and child support. And now christmas.
Good thing I bought alot of Budwiser eariler this week.

Thanks for the eye ( ear)

Sorry to hear... at least you're OK and insurance will take care of the Hawk. My front bumper cover was repainted once and you would never know it.

the only time I ever had a probelm in my 92RS in snow was about 2 years ago, when I crested a hill at about 35 MPH to find ice on the roadway starting down hill. before I could even slow down the rear started around on me and I did a 540 on that 2 lane road and went backwards into the snow along side. Could have been worse--no one else was coming the other direction, no damage to the car, and some guy helped pull me out with a rope so it didn't even cost a $1. I and my two teenage sons did have to change our underwear afterwards, but that was about all!!!! Kinda like the Bill Cosby bit--first you say it then you do it!! haha

Be glad there were no injuries and that damage can be fixed. Hope the new year goes better for you.
