  • Spraying under-carriage = bad?

Just wondering, I want to bring my car through one of those touchless drive through car washes, and it shoots a wall of high pressure water up at your under-carriage.. Is that safe to roll over with the optispark and all? I want to clean the sand/crud out from the past snow..

    Thanks

I have driven the bird through them before, but a couple of times, I had a bad stumble and hesitation immediately following. I am afraid the water got to the opti, but it cleared up after it dried out. Probably not the best idea though.

Hmm.. Alright.. Maybe I'll try it once and see what happens.. I'll drive the nose through pretty quick, and let the stream get the underbody good.

      thanks

        You can't drive thru quick.

Your on a track, and the car is in neutral.

My car stall before I knew what happened
        when I did it.

        I don't do it anymore.

          Well

you're NOT always on a track.. The carwash here you drive in and it sprays until you reach the point where you stop on the ramp part... What I did when I had my Z, was drive the front half through quick, then let it get the middle and back really well..... I never had a problem.

I went through last night, and it was fine

I just drove the nose through quick, and let the spray get the underside good.

            No worries!
