One way is to put it on jackstands with the car in neutral and see how many times the driveshaft turns for one revolution of the axle. You should be able to get close enough to figure it out.

The accurate way is to take the cover off and count the teeth on both the ring gear and the pinion. Take the ring gear and divide it by the pinion. Example: 24 (ring) / 7 (pinion) = 3.42

For a rough guess do, what Kevin said. Mark the driveshaft with something and count the revolutions to 1 turn of the tire.

You asked about "gear size"..... do you mean what is the "gear ratio", or what is the ring gear diameter?

            I check and it's a 3.23 gear. If I went to a 3.55 or possible a 3.73 how much would it cut my 1/4 et ??

            Thank's
