  • Squeeking sound from rear-end...

Hey guys, quick question. For the past few months I've noticed a squeeking sound coming from the rear-end of the car. It seems to only happen when going over speed bumps or anything else that causes the back end to rise/fall. Could it be a problem with the shocks or the springs? The shocks still feel good. Is there anything I can do about this annoying squeeking?

    Thanks guys!

That's a common condition with many f-bodies. You could oil the contact area of the spring perch, but that tends to also collect grime that sticks to the oil. My solution was to mix powdered graphite with alcohol in a spray bottle. Then spray the spring contact area liberally. The alcohol will evaporate leaving behind the graphite to do the job. No oily mess either.
